Late Night Wonderings

Have you ever been really tired, but no matter what you do, you can't get to sleep? I was almost passing out earlier this evening, and when I finally got into bed, I just couldn't get to sleep. I just lay there and watch the ceiling. So, I figured I'd write. It's about time I wrote an actual post for this thing, and not just rules and regulations.

But that leaves me with the question with what I should write about. I don't want to talk about my day to day life, I don't want to talk about what I ate for breakfast or what I did with whom today. While those might end up being fairly interesting posts, I'm just not in the mood for them at the moment. I am, however, in a mood to write about music. So I think I will.

I've been a musician for as long as I can remember. I started off in the choir at church, and then took piano lessons, which I eventually dropped. Soon enough they were offering band in elementary school, and I've been picking up instruments left and right. Currently I play the piano, the guitar, the bass, and have a knack for singing. It's a good combination, I think.

I won't lie, I've only written a few songs, and even less are really worth mentioning. But that doesn't mean that you can't hear who has really influenced me in the songs that I have written. One of the largest influences that I have has to be The Beatles. I've currently have a rather large amount of their albums, each one as amazing as the last.

The thing that I really love about The Beatles is the fact that their so eclectic. You go from one track to the next, some being blues, the next being something rather like folk. And then you have tracks like "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "Revolution 9", which were completely revolutionary in the studio. The Beatles were really into experimenting, in all meanings of the word. And they were progressive. Without the Beatles, Rock would not be what it is today. If you don't believe me, just look at the amount of Beatles covers there are on iTunes.

Anyway, I'm starting to fall asleep at the keyboard, so I will leave you with some sound advice: Listen to more Beatles. No matter what style you like, you can find something that you enjoy.

Random Musings of an Endless Mind

This is the first post of the last blog you will ever need to read. First things first, lets lay down some ground rules, shall we?

1. There will be no hiding or sugar coating anything on this blog. I will be as honest as possible.

2. All opinions must be supported by some factual knowledge.

3. No Flames. Somethings I will write may offend you. Please deal with it in a grown up manner. We're all adults here. I don't want to hear anything like:
"Leik, omgz, ur totally a cumbag."
You don't deserve an opinion if you can't even express it in proper English. Thusly
"Wow, you are an asshat."
comes closer to what I'm looking for. However, this still violates rule number two. So, what I'm really looking for is:
"Wow, I believe that you are totally off base with your opinion of what America should do to solve Global Warming. Eating more steak, which will get rid of the cattle that cause a rather large percentage of methane, a greenhouse gas, is not a feasible solution for cutting down on greenhouse gases."
See, if you talk like that, I might just respond to your comment. Not so much with the Cumbag response. I may be a cumbag, or an asshat, in your opinion, but you are a moron, so we're pretty much even.

4. No spamming. I don't care how great you think your site is, or how tiny you may think my penis is, I don't want to hear about your site. The rest of the world doesn't really give a shit either.

5. No anonymous posts. I want a name, dammit!

6. Don't do the ALL CAPS thing. It ANNOYS me.

7. You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind. Because your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance, they're no friends of mine. Or something like that.

Well, that pretty much sums up the rules. I hope that we can all abide by them, and I'll see you next time!
